  • What is saywhatt?
    saywhatt is a new peer-to-peer marketplace connecting people needing information with people that have the knowledge they need, in a short chat or video call. Users can quickly get tailored information and personal insight from an expert (rather than searching online). Experts can freelance and earn money from their knowledge and experience. saywhatt offers unique travel planning advice and is currently focusing on Greece with more destinations coming soon.   • Who are the experts on saywhatt?
    A saywhatt expert is a person with the knowledge, experience and know-how in the service category they advise in. Whether it's a tour guide, a blogger, a foodie or a knowledgeable local, anyone that has the knowledge you need can be an expert. All experts share the saywhatt spirit of sharing firsthand, unique personal experience with peers and helping them plan great travels, and are hand picked by us.
  • How are session prices determined?
    saywhatt's goal is to allow people to freely earn from their knowledge. Experts work on their own schedule and set their own session pricing. saywhatt does not take part in the pricing of services provided by experts.
  • Can I become an expert?
    Of course! If you have enough knowledge in a service category we are currently offering and can consult and help others (and are over 18), we'd love to have you! You can get more information and apply here.
  • How do I book a session?
    When choosing an expert on the platform you get to their expert profile page. On the expert profile page you can see their session lengths and prices. 1. Choose a session and click Book Now. 2. Choose a date and time that is convenient for you, and follow the instructions to complete the booking. On the booking form you can share your travel plans and write questions or topics you would like to discuss with your expert during your session. We recommend being as elaborate as possible, since your expert will get this information and be able to prepare for the session to make it efficient and useful. 3. After booking you will be able to add the session to your calendar. A link to your session will be sent to your email. To enter the session just click on the link (for Zoom video sessions you need to have Zoom on your device). If you can't find the email from us before your session please contact us at
  • How do I start a session?
    Sessions are made in a chat or on Zoom. Before your session you will receive a link to the meeting to your email. When it is time to meet your expert, open the link to start your session (for Zoom video sessions you need to have Zoom on your device, but you don't need to have a Zoom account). Your expert will let you know when it's time to finish the session and end the meeting. Enjoy your session!
  • How do I pay?
    We use Paypal as our secured, global payment service. You don't need to have a Paypal account to pay. To pay with a credit card choose "Pay with Credit Card". You can pay with Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover credit cards. All payments on the platform are made in USD. A receipt for your purchase will automatically be sent to your email after completing a booking.
  • Where can I see my future bookings and booking history?
    You can view all your past and future bookings in the 'Bookings' section in your personal area.
  • Rating and reviews
    After completing a session you will receive an email from us where we'll ask you for your feedback. Rating and reviewing your expert can help them better serve other users. Any feedback you write is highly appreciated. We are a new platform and trying to quickly improve in any way we can. Thanks!
  • How do I get a refund if i'm not satisfied with my session?
    If you are not satisfied with your session just write us to and we will fully refund your session. After writing us, please allow 48 hours for the refund. Your payment will be returned to the original payment method used when booking. You will get a refund confirmation from Paypal to your email once the refund has been made.
  • How can I sign up to be an expert?

  • What sort of travel experts can sign up?
    Any kind. If you're a professional travel guide, a local with good tips, a foodie that can recommend great places to eat in and hang out and think that a short video chat with you can contribute to a traveler, you're an ideal saywhatt expert!
  • How do I set my public profile and session pricing?
    After being accepted as a saywhatt expert, a link to a form will be sent to your email where you will be asked to fill in your public profile. There, you will also be asked to write your session pricing.
  • Do I set my own booking schedule?
    Yes. On saywhatt, you can work as much as you want and whenever you want. After being accepted as a saywhatt expert our support team will contact you to set your schedule. Users will only be able to book sessions according to the availability on your calendar. Time Zones: set your schedule according to your own time zone. Each user will see your availability according to their own time zone.
  • What happens when a session is booked?
    When a session is booked you will receive an email the user's name, location, and a short description they wrote of what they would like to discuss during the session. Before the session you will also receive an email with a link to the meeting. When it is time, click the link to start the session (for Zoom sessions you will need to log into Zoom with your saywhatt username and password to start the meeting).
  • How do I get paid and what is saywhatt's fee?
    We transfer payments to experts every Sunday for booked sessions from the previous week. Payments are transferred by Paypal. When getting a payment you will receive an email from Paypal with the transfer. You can either keep your payment in your Paypal account and use it paying directly from the account, or you can transfer it to your bank account or credit card. Please note all transfers are made in USD. You may choose to convert your payment to your local currency. All transfers and currency conversions are subject to Paypal rules and regulations and fees. It can take up to 72 hours for the transfer to show in your account. When transferring payment, we deduct a 20% service and handling fee from the total sum paid to you by users for your weekly sessions.   • Tips on conducting the best session:
    Our goal is to make the session as productive, friendly and enjoyable as possible for the user. Before a session- When a booking is made you will receive an email with the user’s name, where they’re from and what they would like to discuss. saywhatt sessions are short and most of the time the user's questions will be specific. Use the information to prepare for the session. You can prepare notes or recommendations in advance to make the session as productive and time-efficient as possible. You can conduct the session from anywhere and from any device. It’s important to make sure you are in a quiet surrounding with good lighting, so the user can see and hear you well. During a session- Enter the session a minute before it starts so you are already there when the user goes online. Because of the short session lengths, session time management is very important. It will allow you to cover everything the user wants to discuss: Briefly introduce yourself. Tell the user what you learned they want to discuss from the booking form and ask them if there is anything else they would like to cover. If you need more information from them in order to give the right recommendation, this is the time to ask. Give recommendations and advice that you think best fits your user. They are speaking to you rather than searching online because they are looking for personally tailored advice. Share your personal experience, it is priceless information only you can give and that cannot be found anywhere else! You can also send links to your user (in Zoom use the chat box). Please do not give the user your personal information, phone number or email. Ending a session: A minute before time is up, tell your user the session is about to end and ask them if there’s anything else they would like to ask. When it is time, explain the session has ended. Thank them for their booking and of course- wish them happy, safe, great travels :) Enjoy your session!
  • Is it possible for experts on other countries to join saywhatt?
    saywhatt is a new marketplace. We are currently focusing on Greece, with more areas to open soon. We are doing our best to build the platform the right way, and as fast as possible, so anyone can quickly get information from an expert online, and anyone with relevant knowledge can become an expert and earn money. If you wish to become an expert and have expertise in an area that is not currently offered, please write us here and we will contact you as soon as the category opens.   • Invoices
    With every payment transfer you get, you will also receive an invoice from saywhatt for the service and handling fee you pay. All invoices will include local taxes and VAT as required by law.
  • Taxes
    As per our Terms and Conditions and Commercial Terms, experts are responsible for paying and handling their local taxes.
